Avior - Blog : AVAX to USDT: How to Swap Avalanche to Tether on ERC20 or Solana

If you hold AVAX and want a dollar stablecoin without going through a bank, you can swap AVAX to USDT on AviorSwap, a crypto exchange that supports USDT on both Ethereum (ERC20) and Solana. Enter any amount in the swap form to see the live rate before you sign up. You can open the live AVAX to USDT quote (https://aviorswap.com/swap?src=blog) right now, with no account needed.

This guide shows how to convert Avalanche to USDT step by step, how to choose between AVAX to USDT ERC20 and AVAX to USDT Solana, and which network checks keep your coins where they should be.

What happens when you swap Avalanche to USDT

AVAX is the native coin of Avalanche. USDT is a stablecoin issued by Tether on several networks, and each version is a separate token on a separate chain. When you swap Avalanche to Tether, your AVAX does not travel to Ethereum or Solana. You deposit AVAX, swap it for the USDT version you want inside the exchange, and then withdraw that USDT on its own network.

That means two network checks:

  • On deposit, send AVAX only on the network shown on the deposit page for your account
  • On withdrawal, USDT must leave on the network that matches the version you chose, ERC20 (Ethereum) or Solana

A note on Avalanche networks. Avalanche has more than one chain. Most wallets and exchanges hold and send AVAX on the C-Chain, which uses 0x-style addresses. Before you send, check that the network your sending wallet or platform uses matches the one shown on the deposit page. If they do not match, do not send.

The swap on AviorSwap supports 10 assets: BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL, XRP, LTC, DOGE, AVAX, USDT (ERC20) and USDT (Solana). Deposits are crypto only, so no cards or bank transfers are involved at any stage.

Why people convert AVAX to USDT

Reasons vary. Some people want to hold part of their crypto in a dollar-pegged asset. Others need USDT to pay, settle or move value to a wallet or app that works with stablecoins. Some want a stable unit to keep track of value between trades. This guide does not tell you whether or when to swap; it only explains how the process works once you have decided.

Before you start

  • AVAX in a wallet or on a platform you can send from
  • A receiving wallet for USDT on the network you plan to use: an Ethereum address (starts with 0x) for ERC20, or a Solana address for USDT on Solana
  • A little ETH in an Ethereum wallet, or a little SOL in a Solana wallet, so you can move your USDT later
  • An email address for sign-up

How to swap AVAX to USDT in 3 steps

Before step 1, open the swap form, choose AVAX as the asset you give and USDT (ERC20) or USDT (Solana) as the asset you receive, and enter an amount. You will see a live quote. Nothing is executed at this point.

Step 1: Sign up with email. Create an AviorSwap account with your email address. This gives you a balance where your AVAX deposit will arrive. AviorSwap operates under its AML policy (https://aviorswap.com/aml-compliance).

Step 2: Deposit AVAX on the network shown on the deposit page. Open the deposit page, choose AVAX and read the network shown for your account. Copy the deposit address, then send AVAX from a wallet or platform that uses that same network. After pasting, compare the first and last characters of the address. The deposit is credited after network confirmations.

Step 3: Swap AVAX to USDT on /swap. When your AVAX balance appears, return to the swap page, select AVAX and the USDT version you want, enter the amount and review the live quote. Confirm, and USDT appears in your balance.

Then withdraw the USDT to your own wallet. Pick the USDT version you hold, select the matching network, paste your receiving address and confirm. For any address you have not used before, send a small test amount first.

ERC20 or Solana: which USDT network to pick

Both versions are issued by Tether and track the same dollar. The practical difference is where the coins can go next. The simplest rule is to choose the network your next wallet, app or platform uses.

  • Pick USDT (ERC20) if you plan to use the USDT with an Ethereum wallet such as MetaMask, or with an app or platform that accepts USDT on Ethereum
  • Pick USDT (Solana) if your wallet is Phantom, Solflare or another Solana wallet, or the place you are sending to accepts USDT on Solana
  • If you are not sure, check the deposit page of the receiving platform. It lists the networks it accepts for USDT
  • Keep the right gas token in the receiving wallet: ETH for ERC20, SOL for Solana

For a fuller comparison of the two options, see our guide on how to swap crypto to USDT on ERC20 or Solana (https://aviorswap.com/blog/how-to-swap-crypto-to-usdt-erc20-or-solana).

An Avalanche-specific trap: an Avalanche C-Chain address and an Ethereum address look the same, because both start with 0x. A 0x address alone does not tell you the network. When you withdraw USDT (ERC20), make sure the receiving wallet or platform expects USDT on Ethereum, and check the network field, not just the address format.

Whatever you pick, check the network before withdrawing. USDT (ERC20) goes out on Ethereum. USDT (Solana) goes out on Solana to a Solana address. A mismatch between the asset, the network and the receiving address is the most common reason USDT gets stuck.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Sending AVAX on a different Avalanche chain or network than the one shown on the deposit page
  • Choosing the wrong USDT version in the swap. Check the Buy asset before you confirm
  • Pasting a Solana address for an ERC20 withdrawal, or a 0x address for a Solana withdrawal
  • Sending USDT (ERC20) to an address that only expects Avalanche assets, because both use the 0x format
  • Skipping a test transfer to a new address

Other pairs

The same three steps work for the other coins in the swap list. If you hold Bitcoin, read BTC to USDT on Solana (https://aviorswap.com/blog/btc-to-usdt-solana-how-to-swap). If you hold Litecoin, see LTC to USDT (https://aviorswap.com/blog/ltc-to-usdt-how-to-swap).

FAQ

Can I get USDT on TRC20?

No. AviorSwap supports USDT on ERC20 and on Solana only. TRC20 (Tron) is not available, so do not send TRC20 USDT to AviorSwap and do not withdraw to a Tron address.

Can I swap AVAX to BTC or other coins?

Yes. The swap supports 10 assets: BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL, XRP, LTC, DOGE, AVAX, USDT (ERC20) and USDT (Solana). You can swap AVAX to any of the other nine, for example AVAX to BTC or AVAX to SOL. Market prices for each asset are on AviorSwap markets (https://aviorswap.com/markets), and the swap form shows the live quote for your amount.

What if I send to the wrong network?

Stop and do not send more to the same address. Whether funds can be recovered depends on where they went and who controls that address. Our guide for anyone who sent USDT on the wrong network (https://aviorswap.com/blog/sent-usdt-wrong-network-recover) explains the options.

Can I see the quote before I create an account?

Yes. The swap form shows a live quote for the exact amount of AVAX you enter, with no sign-up.

Can I pay with a card or bank transfer?

No. AviorSwap accepts crypto deposits only. To get USDT, you deposit AVAX or another supported coin and swap it.

The bottom line

To swap AVAX to USDT, check the quote, sign up with email, deposit AVAX on the network shown on the deposit page and swap it to USDT (ERC20) or USDT (Solana). Choose the USDT network your next wallet or platform uses, and remember that a 0x address does not tell you which network it belongs to. Check the network field every time.
