Avior - Blog : Robinhood Chain Passes $100 Billion in DEX Volume: What It Means for the Multi-Chain DEX Landscape CATEGORY: Market

One of the biggest DeFi stories of October 2026 is the rapid rise of Robinhood Chain. The Ethereum layer 2 network, built on Arbitrum's Orbit technology, went live on July 1 and has already processed more than $100 billion in decentralized exchange (DEX) volume, according to DefiLlama data cited by Bitcoin.com News and CoinScreamer. Below is a breakdown of the numbers, the context behind them and the questions still open.

The Numbers

DefiLlama's dashboard put Robinhood Chain's all-time DEX volume at roughly $111.97 billion on October 14, according to Bitcoin.com News. CoinScreamer, using only completed daily data through October 13, calculated about $103.86 billion. Either way, the $100 billion mark has been passed.

The monthly breakdown shows how quickly activity grew:

  • July 2026: about $15.31 billion
  • August 2026: about $19.37 billion
  • September 2026: about $55.99 billion
  • October 1–13, 2026: about $13.19 billion

How It Compares With Other Chains

Over the 30 days to mid-October, Robinhood Chain processed about $38.62 billion in DEX volume, compared with $30.46 billion on Base and $5.65 billion on Arbitrum One, Bitcoin.com News reported. Solana still leads by a wide margin, with about $71.46 billion over the same period. Reports also put the network's total value locked (TVL) above $1.05 billion, including more than $324 million in tokenized real-world assets, and Robinhood says its tokenized stocks have generated about $15 billion in volume.

What Drove the Growth

  • Tokenized equities: Robinhood Chain combines crypto trading with tokenized stocks, which brings a new type of user and asset on-chain.
  • Distribution: Robinhood can route activity from its existing wallet and app user base.
  • Gas subsidies: part of September's surge came while Robinhood covered gas costs for qualifying swaps through Robinhood Wallet, an offer that ended on September 29.

Signs of Cooling

The headline milestone does not mean volume is accelerating every week. According to Bitcoin.com News, the chain has averaged roughly $1.1 billion in daily volume in October, compared with about $1.87 billion per day in September. CoinScreamer found that the seven completed days through October 13 generated about $6.51 billion, down 20.5% from the previous week. Trading volume is also different from deposits or revenue. Robinhood's third-quarter results, due in late October, will be the first to cover a full quarter of mainnet operation and may show how much of this activity translates into revenue.

Why It Matters for DEX Users

Robinhood Chain's rise is part of a broader trend: liquidity is spreading across more networks rather than concentrating on one. Other recent examples include new DEXs launching on several chains at once and cross-chain systems such as NEAR Intents reporting more than $33 billion in all-time volume. For everyday users, this has practical consequences:

  • The best price for a token may sit on a different chain than the one you normally use.
  • Fragmented liquidity can mean wider spreads or higher slippage on smaller pools.
  • Bridging between chains adds steps, costs and smart contract risk.
  • Incentives such as gas subsidies can temporarily inflate activity, so volume alone is not a full measure of a network's health.

Questions to Watch

  • Will October volume stabilize now that the September gas subsidy has ended?
  • How much revenue will Robinhood report from on-chain activity in its Q3 results?
  • Will tokenized stock trading keep attracting new users to on-chain markets?
  • How will other layer 2 networks, especially Base and Arbitrum One, respond?

The Bottom Line

Robinhood Chain shows how quickly a well-distributed network can capture DEX market share, but early growth was partly incentive-driven and recent weekly volume has eased. For users, the bigger takeaway is that a multi-chain world makes it more important to compare rates, fees and liquidity before every trade. Multi-chain swap platforms such as AviorSwap, which lists support for 17+ networks, aim to make that easier by letting you swap between supported assets in one place. Always check the networks and pairs supported before you trade.
